DPS is proud to offer two, fully calibrated, DI Color Grading theaters, equipped with Laser 4K Projection and capable of delivering to multiple formats while maintaining color fidelity throughout. In these state-of-the-art suites, our Colorists work closely with Directors and Cinematographers to communicate their messages to the audience through the art and technique of color grading.

DPS is proud to offer a facility that can tackle any requirement that may arise during the post-sound process, including an ICON Console Dub Stage for mixing, Recording Stages for ADR and Foley, and multiple suites for editorial and design work. We are capable of creating mixes that track as widely as any show may require.

Our Re-recording Mixers and Designers work side-by-side with the Director and Producer(s) on everything from Dialogue and Effects Editorial to Mixing, fixing problematic production audio, transforming the various elements into a unified and balanced whole, and creating a polished mix that, to audiences, will be the very definition of movie magic.

Whether you’re in pre-production, production, or post-production, DPS welcomes the opportunity to accommodate your show’s Visual Effects needs and encourages filmmakers to foresee their needs as early in the filmmaking process as possible. “The sooner you know, the smoother the show,” as they say. Or, to put it very bluntly, by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

However, sometimes even prepared filmmakers don’t realize they will require Visual Effects until they see their films projected in one of our finely tuned theaters or are running their master through QC (quality control) – and, when things like this happen, DPS is ready and willing to help you fill the void. In fact, we plan for it, even if you don’t.

And so, DPS is proud to offer a Visual-Effect pipeline that can accommodate shows of any size. If a complete post-finishing package is your plan, our ability to support the DPS Color and Sound departments with a proprietary workflow keeps everyone on the same picture while saving you precious time in the process.

There’s an old joke that goes like this:

Q: What did the Director say in passing one day during post?
A: We forgot about the titles! Who’s going to do them?

Actually, this isn’t a joke at all. We hear this on such a routine basis here at DPS that it’s become a sort of inside joke amongst ourselves. Due to the demands during pre-production and production, many filmmakers find themselves so busy that they don’t plan for designing the main titles, end titles, or MOETS for their show. True, most of the time, a simple, legible, white-against-black font feels appropriate for the roll-up. But, at DPS, we believe that creating titles can be as artful as every other step of the filmmaking process. To put it another way, after you’ve put so much time into the script, the shoot, the editing, the color, and the sound, why wouldn’t you also spend time to make a statement with the style of your titles?

For motion picture content, title design is the one early direct connection from the post-production process to branding and advertising. In fact, large productions usually create the Key Art well before the show is even in the can. This work translates to the title design in the early trailers and promos.

The approach to title design can seem daunting because of the seemingly neverending possibilities, but our Artists know how even simple ideas can pack a punch. No later than when you begin your Color and Sound finishing, your team should be tinkering with the titles. Once the title card feels right, the rest should fall into place. At DPS, we want to make sure the Director and Producers have the opportunity, time, and flexibility to fully explore this important step and leave the building with titles they love.
